Overview

The aim of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge, understanding, and skill necessary to prepare him/her for a Diploma in Marine Electro technology and certification as Electro-Technical Officers (ETO) for service on ships in compliance with the STCW 1978 as amended, including the Manila Amendments of 2010.

Entry Requirements

This course is intended for students who:  

  1. Pass SPM/SPMV or equivalent with at least THREE CREDITS in any subject, OR
  2. Pass SPM/SPMV or equivalent with at least THREE CREDITS, AND pass pre-diploma with minimum tenure of (6) months, OR
  3. Pass UEC with at least Grade B in THREE subjects, OR
  4. Pass O-level with at least Grade C in THREE subjects, OR
  5. Pass SKM level 3 in the relevant discipline; and
  6. Pass SPM with at least ONE CREDIT in any subject; and
  7. One (1) semester of connecting program (if needed), OR
  8. Pass Community College certificate or equivalent with MQF level 3 in the relevant discipline; and
  9. Pass SPM with at least ONE CREDIT in any subject; and
  10. One (1) semester of connecting program (if needed), OR
  11. Pass MQF level 3 certificate in the relevant discipline with at least PNGK 2.00 and one (1) extension semester program (if required), OR
  12. Pass SVM in the relevant discipline with at least PNGK 2.00, OR
  13. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with at least Grade C (GP 2.0) in any   subject, or equivalent, OR
  14. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with at least Grade Maqbul, or equivalent, OR
  15. A pass in recognized TVET related skill certificate with one (1) year of relevant working experience, OR
  16. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.
  17. Medically and physically fit for sea service as examined by approved medical practitioner   by Malaysia Marine Department.
  18. Normal color vision.
  19. For International students, it is compulsory to fulfil a minimum score at least ONE of the following:
